Schwalbe British 4X Series

The Schwalbe British 4X Series will be run over 7 rounds in 2012. With increased rider numbers in 2011, Chris Roberts, the series organiser, is ecstatic with the progress 4X has made in the UK over the past few years:
‘4X here in the UK is growing year on year. The atmosphere at every round is fantastic and we can’t wait to see more new faces in 2012. Schwalbe have been a fantastic partner for 4X and we look forward to many more years working with them.’

Dave Taylor, the marketing manager for Schwalbe UK, had never been to a 4X race before round 1 at Leamington in 2011. Now he is hooked on the sport and a huge fan:

‘The British 4X Series has been fantastic for Schwalbe in 2011 and we are more than happy to be the title sponsor of the Series for the next 2 years. We have now developed specific 4X tyres for 2012 and we look forward to seeing plenty of the new ‘Gatestar’ compound’s on new bikes next year. 4X racing in Britain is the most action packed Mountain Biking you could ever hope to witness. We love it and can’t wait for the 2012 season to start.’

Dates and venues are just being finalised for the series and will be released soon.

Schwalbe Euro 4X Series

The Schwalbe Euro 4X Series came down to the very last race in 2011 to decide the top 3 overall. Joost Wichman had led the series from round 1 in Houffalize, Belgium, but at the final round in Pec, Czech Republic, Tomas Slavik did just enough to overturn Joost’s lead and be crowned Schwalbe Euro 4X Series Champion. The Series was a real showcase for 4X and the events will be even better in 2012.

Michael Kull, Schwalbe Europe’s marketing manager has committed to the series for 2012/2013 and had this to say:

‘We here at Schwalbe are proud to be the title sponsor of the ‘Schwalbe Euro and British 4X Series’ again for 2012/2013 and hope we can support the development of the sport in the next few years. I’m sure the series and sport in general can only benefit from recent developments in the World Cup. Schwalbe has always seen a big potential in 4X to prove our tires in the hardest conditions. Hardtails racing over different terrain every week is a fantastic test for any of our tyres. We’ve just introduced our Racing Ralph and Nobby Nic treads in the 4X specific GateStar compound that we have developed specifically for 4X and are glad to be able to give something back with our continued sponsorship.’

Dates and venues are just being finalised for the series and will be released soon.
