Nissan White Style presented by Kona

Only three weeks are left until the Nissan White Style presented by Kona will take place in the snowy centre of Leogang. The third anniversary of the one and only mountain bike slopestyle contest on snow during the wintertime will be held on February 2nd. Be prepared for some hardcore mountain bike freeride action.

This year’s course, which will be built next to the Schantei ski-lift station, will dwarf the former ones. Grant Fielder is again the master of construction and will design some wicked jumps and obstacles. The British Kona Clump team rider is experienced with building hard rocking lines, but doesn’t want to tell any details yet. So be anxious to see what he gonna have prepared.

About 20 international top riders take part at the Nissan White Style presented by Kona. They will be the first ones to see the track shaped out of snow and wood. The qualifying runs take place on Saturday afternoon. Saturday night at 8:30 pm, the ten finalists complete two runs to determine the winners. The riders are competing for 5,000 euros in prize money.

Pro-riders from at least seven nations will compete at the contest. You can be sure to watch very different styles of riding that will push this winter expression session a step higher. In addition to the invited riders, a few rookies did manage to get some wildcards, too.

Those who are still not heated up enough by the sizzling atmosphere during the contest itself can look forward to a long night at the official after show party. That’s your chance to celebrate a nice day & night in Leogang with some first class mountain bike freeride action that will find its end in partying with some of the best pro-riders in the world. Nice idea, isn’t it?

But the Nissan White Style presented by Kona is only the beginning of a spectacular bike season 2008 in Leogang.
The Bikepark Leogang – with its enormous scope of tracks for all stages of age and skills – is an absolute highlight itself.
The legendary Out of Bounds weekend will take place again from June 5th -8th, 2008. This mountain bike festival will also be the perfect framework for the 26TRIX contest. This world wide well known dirt jump contest celebrates its third anniversary and will again host all the international stars of the freeride mountain bike scene.
The IXS Middle European Downhill Cup will have its final stop in Leogang on September 21st.
