The Nissan UCI world Cup is almost upon us, check out Dirt 75 for the full low down on the runners and riders.

The Nissan UCI World Cup is by far the most anticipated event in the mountain bike diary. Rated amongst the bike world as the crème de la crème and as a precursor to the Olympic Games, each event is expected to attract record numbers of spectators and push the boundaries of the sport more than ever in 2008.

Twelve events will span eleven countries between March and September featuring Cross Country Marathon (XCM) , Cross Country Olympic (XCO) , Downhill (DH) and Four Cross (4X). Some of the fittest athletes in the world will pit their talents in a test of endurance, stamina and amazing levels of speed, power and technical agility. But if it’s crashes you like, there are plenty of those too.

DIRTY WEEKEND 2008

The UK’s first ever multi-sport adventure sports festival hits the Scottish Borders on the
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July 2008.

Dirty Weekend is the UK’s first ever multi-sport adventure sports festival set in the stunning surroundings of the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders and featuring some classic multi-sport event formats. It will be staged from Saturday 5 to Sunday 6 July 2008.

ACE Race – Adventure Race (5/6 July) – over 1 and 2 days – combine running, biking and kayaking whilst navigating for checkpoints in challenging terrain

Polaris Challenge – Mountain Bike Navigation (5/6 July) – an off-road biking challenge held over two days where competitors have to reach as many checkpoints as possible within the allotted times.

Dirty Dozen – 12K Trail Run (5 July) – Taking to the woods and forests of the Tweed Valley and providing a superb run on off-road trails; passing through woodland, crossing rivers, traversing rough ground and tackling some major ascents (and descents) along the way.
