Results from the 2015 Mont Sainte Anne DH World Cup.
Men
What a close to racing here as times tightened at the top. Loic Bruni put in a storming run and it looked like this could finally be his day to win, but it wasn’t to be. Josh Bryceland took an emphatic return to the form of 2014 and put injuries behind him, edging Bruni out of the winner’s seat by a fraction of a second. Troy Brosnan stormed qualifying yesterday in vile conditions, but he lost too much time to Bryceland in the upper section today. A fast final section for Brosnan wasn’t enough to make up the gap and he eventually crossed the line in third.
1: Josh Bryceland
2: Loic Bruni
3: Troy Brosnan
Women
The weather promised to wreak havoc with the women as the clouds darkened and the thunder started rolling through, but finally the rain mostly stayed away. Rachel Atherton and Manon Carpenter had a small amount of rain for their runs but it didn’t stop them taking the 1-2. A superb return to World Cup racing for Myriam Nicole who looked fast and confident through the rough stuff up top.
Emmeline Ragot did not ride due to a suspected broken ankle and elbow from practice this morning, get well soon.
1: Rachel Atherton
2: Manon Carpenter
3: Myriam Nicole
Junior
After a nightmare start to the event with lost bikes and a crash in qualifying, Trek’s Laurie Greenland pulled it all together for finals, pulling six seconds over his nearest rival, Alex Marin Trillo. Andrew Crimmins was less than a second back in third. Unfortunately our Orange Dirt World Team junior and first-place qualifier Jacob Dickson slipped back to fifth. Next time Jacob!
