Recently crowned World Master’s Champion Cesar Rojo says next week’s race for the Elite World Championships in Andorra will be decided on the steep lower sector. Having been closely pushed on the straight, less steep top sector in yesterday’s final, the Barcelona man pulled away on what he described as the “wild lower sections.”
Rojo, who confessed to being “way too nervous” for his final run, chose to run different setting on his prototype bike, stiffer up front and softer on the rear to deal with the vertiginous Andorran thriller. Looking ahead to next week he cannot see anyone getting close to this year’s top racers Troy Brosnan and newly crowned World Cup Champion Aaron Gwin on what’s always the most tense race of the season.
