Mont Saint Anne: I predict a riot

4-x practise was cancelled yesterday and todays qualifying was aborted after 30 minutes due to course safety. A number of riders bit the dust (er…mud actually) on the last straight doubles including Gracia who sliced his arm open on the chicken wire and duffed up his knee. He was quite optimistic that the local A+E could stitch him together. Some riders protested and decided not to carry on, stating that the course was dangerous. However just as many riders where happy to carry on regardless.
To be fair to Phil Saxena, the course designer, you can’t control the weather can you. They’ve had seven years of sunny 4x here, but the last two weeks has seen an unprecedented amount of rain. The ground here dries up pretty quickly so a good day of sun tomorrow and it should be hunky dory. Check the 4x course pics here.

Phil Saxena gets an ear bashing from the angry mob.
