Trans Provence 2014 – Day 5
Day five from the Trans Provence and the trials are still giving the riders a balance of beautiful scenery and challenging riding. The day was won by Jerome Clementz who took the win from Jamie Nicoll in second and Francois Bailly Maitre in 3rd. Ines Thoma held the day five lead but it was Anka Martin and Kerstin Kögler who pushed overall 2nd placed rider Anita Gehrig back into 4th for the day.
With just one day left of the 6 day race it’s still tight at the top with just 24 seconds separating Francois Bailly Maitre and Jerome Clementz in second. Jamie Nicoll and Chris Johnston still take up the 4th and 5th positions after day five’s stages with James Stock in 5th taking the race to his brother who sits in 7th after the penultimate day. Ines Thoma still leads the women with Anita Gehrig in 2nd and Anka Martin 3rd, with just one day of racing left to go it could all change but Thoma holds a good lead over the second and third placed riders.
