Mavic Trans Provence 2014 Day 4
Legs are getting tired out in France but the guys and girls are still having a ball with some talking about these trails as the best they have ever ridden. We’ve been following the race through days one, two and three with the field settling into the 300km course, of which they have now covered over half.
Setting out the riders were faced with some steep technical climbing over roots and rock to get to the top ready for the first stage of downhill. The uphill effort was rewarded by a wake up call through some rocky descents before a final liaison stage for a few beers at the finish. The race is still being led by Francois Bailly Maitre, Jerome Clementz in second with Jamie Nicoll in 3rd. Ben Cruz and Chris Johnston round out the top 5 with the two Stocks now in 7th and 8th. The top women remain unchanged too with Ines Thoma out front, Anita Gehrig in second and Anka Martin third.
Here are the full results from the day, Jamie Nicoll leapfrogged Jerome for a second place on day four but he will need a few more seconds to make the difference for the overall.
