WHISTLER, BC, April 10, 2007– The first session of 2007’s summer season of Whistler’s Summer Gravity Camp (SGC) will feature pro coaches Cam Zink and Cam McCaul, first and second place winners of Kokanee Crankworx’s 2006 Slopestyle event. Run by freeride legend, Andrew Shandro, and a long list of the industry’s top pros, SGC is the world’s leading freeride mountain bike camp.
“This summer’s campers are going to be coached by the best mountain bikers on the planet,” says Camp Director, Andrew Shandro. “The coach lineup for the five camp sessions profiles the who’s who of freeride mountain biking and I am thrilled to announce the ‘Cam-coach-combo’ for our first SGC session on July 15-22, 2007.”
In addition to the exciting new coach lineup, Canadian residents under the age of 16 will now be able to access the newly implemented Federal Children’s Fitness Tax Credit (CFTC). “The CFTC will offer an annual $500 non-refundable tax credit to SGC campers based on a multiple of the parents’ lowest marginal tax rate,” explains Jeremy Roche, Whistler Blackcomb’s Manager of Product Development. “This new Federal Government initiative will make SGC even more financially accessible for Canadian residents.”
The Camp also added a new session to accommodate demand and to allow more one-on-one coaching. Seven night youth camp sessions will run from July 15-August 12 and once again, the Camp will be rounded out by the adult camp from August 12-19. As always, Summer Gravity Campers will be treated to prizing from core companies like Dakine, Nike 6.0, Helly Hansen, Smith Optics, JBL, Bontrager, Trek and Saint.
