Graves and Horakova win Fort William 4X

Jared Graves and Jana Horakova scored their second World Cup wins of the year at a dry and dusty Fort William 4X.

It was a metronomic performance from Graves, his starts and power set him apart from the rest of the men’s field. A loose surface, one that had riders slipping and sliding around, and a string of punctures, didn’t make racing an easy task, but Graves was up to the challenge.
A (slightly) less than perfect start, that saw him knocking elbows with Joost Wichman, soon turned into a typical Graves performance. Prokop came across from gate four with a perfect start to take second into turn one, but a costly error on the next section of the track saw Wichman move up into second, and that (with Romain Saladini in fourth) was how it ended.

In the women’s race it was Horakova that had a clean and uneventful run down the hill. Some may have seen Anneke Beerten as the favourite, but she ended up back in fourth.

Both Horakova and Graves retain their World Cup leader’s jerseys.
