I don’t think it would be possible to do any ‘top’ list concerning mountain biking without John Tomac being in there somewhere, and he definitely warrants a place in this list. The skin suits and disc rear wheels were just the icing on the cake of Tomac’s style. He was a truly gifted racer with a incredible ability to go faster than pretty much anyone else, and look stylish as hell whilst doing it. There weren’t many riders that could pull off being dressed in skintight rubber, and so for that reason alone he deserves to be included in this list. That said, even if he’d never worn his legendary outfits he’d still have warranted a spot.
