Qualifying turned out ok in the end today. We added some stone to the first turn which seemed to improve grip. Gate practice with 4 riders saw no crashes in the sketchy first turn. In fact, seeing Lopes, Gracia and Rinderknecht, all sideways, at the same time, in the first turn was pretty cool.
Lopes gets 1st over Prokop, with Scott “Boom boom” Beaumont in 4Th! Nice one Scott. Great to see so many UK riders in the 4X, Duncan Ferris, Will Evans, Dan Yeomans, Jordan Gould, Steve Taylor all looking good in qualifying. Also Tom Dowie racing his first World Cup 4X. Gutted to see Will Longden crash out on the big hip. He missed qualifying by 0.2 seconds. Kintner smoked the women’s field with a time good enough for a top 20 in the men’s!
