Mavic have made a big song and dance about this being the first specific wheel/tyre system, and as such the wheels do come complete with tyres, but to be honest we’re not sure you should worry about all that too much because at the end of the day they’re just an incredible set of wheels. To be fair the front tyre is actually pretty decent, but the rear definitely isn’t anything to write home about. Anyway, the idea behind these wheels is that front and rear wheels have different requirements, and therefore shouldn’t be made the same. The result is that you’ll find different rim widths and spoke counts front and rear, and we’ve got to say it seems to work. Light, fast and strong sums them up, and you get a choice of 26 or 27.5”.
