Shimano are almost doing themselves a disservice with these Deore brakes because performance wise they’re not a million miles off their top offerings, but price wise they certainly are. They’re incredibly reliable, not too heavy, and we even think they look alright too. The only place where they lose out a little is in ultimate power, but there’s still more than enough on offer, especially if you chuck some big rotors on. It’s products like this that really highlight the law of diminishing returns, because they come so close to rivalling brakes costing twice as much. Actually, scrub that, they beat several brakes that cost twice as much. Definitely the best value brakes on the market, and by quite some distance.
