The Makulu is a about as good a demonstration as it gets of just how well suspension can work if a linkage design and shock are perfectly matched. If you then chuck a BOS fork up front too the result is nothing short of sensational, with the type of balance and composure that is rarely found.

Combine that with great geometry and you’ve got a bike that is nothing short of seriously rapid. We didn’t think it could get any better, but we’ve just heard that for 2011 there will be full BOS builds coming into the UK which will sell for £4600 despite dripping with other equally impressive parts like Formula brakes and Shimano Saint. That sounds like a killer deal to us.
