Trek’s no-fuss approach to bikes is something that we really admire at Dirt, their steeds are high in the performance stakes and yet shout very little about it, leaving results and consumers to do the talking instead.
The Fuel EX range is best described by Trek themselves as it apparently “brings race-day tech to all-day adventure” – couldn’t have said it better ourselves. The EX 9 comes ready equipped for said adventures with a Reverb seatpost (with proper Stealth dropper hose routing), tubeless ready wheels and tyres, and Fox CTD (climb-trail-descend) shock and forks, which give you three very noticeably different settings at the flick of a switch. Internal cable routing, tapered head-tube and Trek’s neat down-tube guard are all nice touches that add up to a bike worthy of all rides at all times.
A great bike for trail riders who like to venture far and wide safe in the knowledge that their bike can withstand everything the mountains can throw at it.
