The Ardent is Maxxis’ answer to an enduro rider’s dreams; a tyre that rolls as fast as a cross-country tyre without sacrificing cornering or braking ability.
The Ardent achieves this dream combination by way of a highly exaggerated row of centre knobs which create a ‘rail’ to ride on whilst going in a straight line. Lean over into a turn though and the aggressive side-knobs tear into all but the hardest of ground conditions. With a range of sidewall options available you can pick and choose the right casing for your riding and bike set-up; UST tubeless, Maxxis’ LUST (Lightweight Ultimate Sidewall Technology), and our favourite, the Exo which is perfect for enduro type riding with its super-tough sidewall.
Two widths (2.25” and 2.40”) also make this tread pattern even more versatile, with the narrower option lending itself perfectly to dry trail and single-track riding and the 2.4” to heavier duty enduro riding. Oh, and it’s just as impressive in 29er guise.
