I can’t believe its over again. My 10th season in the Bike Park has come to an end. I got in 84 days up there, a few shy of my 100 day goal. At the end of the season I finally got my dream bike built. After 2 seasons on my Trek Session 10 I was in serious need of a new bike and the new Session 88 is one hell of a bike. It seems to do everything I want it to and I haven’t found a fault yet. Best day on it so far was doing seriously heated laps with the American Dream, Curtis Keene down A- Line.
The reason missed out on 100 days is because I went to the desert for a month. Big Red Ted called and asked if Kenny and I wanted to go to Virgin Utah for a month and help build the Red Bull Rampage. Without much thought we said yes. We were both fired up to be able to help bring back the best freeride MTB comp ever. We were shocked when we first arrived at the site. I was scared just walking around on some of the ridges. Working in the desert heat really takes it out of you. Seeing it go from 3 of us slaving in the desert to the shocking spectacle that it turned into was quite the journey. I didn’t want the competition to end. I’ve never been so entertained watching a bike event ever! Hopefully the Red Bull Rampage is back for good.
It just started raining here and I don’t think it’s going to stop till spring.
