As with many of Schwalbe’s tyres this rubber comes in a whole heap of variations with all three wheel sizes being catered for, in TrailStar or VertStar triple compounds and in folding or wire bead. The VertStar heavier duty wire bead model is the one that will interest most downhill riders and is proven on the World Cup circuit.
‘From faster drier conditions through to all but the wettest trails the Magic Mary digs in and gives great confidence’
With a high volume, aggressive tread and great edge, this tyre almost puts the traditional 50/50 tyre out of business. Great run front and rear on a DH bike, available in 2.35” or 2.5” widths with a double skin carcass and snakebite protection.
The TrialStar compound Mary works very well as a gravity enduro choice, set up tubeless. A faster rolling blend than the VertStar, and with a folding bead it weighs in at reliable 1100g. We run this tyre up front and often with the super fast Rock Razor semi-slick at the rear when conditions allow. From faster drier conditions through to all but the wettest trails the Magic Mary digs in and gives great confidence. Steep, off camber tracks are no problem for the huge siped knobs, giving great stability and braking.
Schwalbe’s Magic Mary is fast becoming the ultimate all-round mixed conditions rubber.
