Yet the BoXXer is still a proven winner, and in the right hands in pretty much standard trim will still deliver very good performance.
At just over 2.6kg, with 200mm travel within its 35mm upper tubes and available in black, diffusion black or white, the BoXXer WC offers beginning stroke rebound and low speed compression adjustment. This makes it a simpler fork than its predecessor and much of the competition.

Dropping into steeper faster sections, the BoXXer will rarely win an arm wrestle with the much-improved Fox any longer, it just dips and flexes a touch more than some bigger forks, especially with heavier riders on board. Maybe the day has arrived with the move to larger 27.5” wheels for the fork to bulk up a touch and gain larger diameter and stouter legs?
Yet having said that its performance will be more than a match for most riders and for those chasing a lower priced fork the reborn Manitou Dorado and the X-Fusion RV1 forks are both at lower price points. But it’s the World Cup version of this fork we’re talking about here, a step above the Team and RC models and a fork that sits in this year’s Dirt 100 listing as one of only two downhill forks. It’s as simple as that. You can step away into the world of lesser seen brands but more often than not the BoXXer’s blend of performance, usability and realistic servicing schedules means you may well return.
