Born on 13th May 1994 in Nice, Loic first rode a mountain bike seriously at the age of nine, and just a year later was racing in the MOM Avalanche series. Now based in nearby Cagnes-sur-Mer, and studying at university in Nice, Loic rides for the Lapierre Gravity Republic team, alongside more experienced stars such as Emmeline Ragot and Sam Blenkinsop. Since 2014, has also been sponsored by Red Bull.
He first made a major global impact in 2012 at the age of just 18, when he was not only crowned world Junior Downhill champion, but he was also the overall winner of the Junior Downhill World Cup, taking his first World Cup elite podium place in the fifth round of the series in Windham in the process.
Incredibly mature and calm under pressure for one so young – he missed the fourth round of the World Cup series in 2012 because of school exams! – he also impressed at the Megavalanche race in Alpe d’Huez, where he finished 23rd out of 303 riders.
He continued to progress rapidly in 2013, his first season in the elite division – in the inaugural season of the Enduro World Series he put in a number of great performances against the big guns, including a best finish of 13th in the third race of the series at Les 2 Alpes, and he finished 73rd overall. Talented, hardworking, charismatic and with incredible potential, Loic is surely a future star of enduro.
