New zealand Southern National Downhill Round 3 Blenheim

The Race this weekend was held at Strachan Peak in Blenheim.

The track was Fast and open using many steep fire breaks. on the Saturday when we arrived the track was thick in mud and didn’t really dry out till late in the day.
Come race day the track was fast and tacky, Ben Cathro put the fastest seeding run in with Justin Leov in second but come race run Justin Leov took the win.

In second was Danny Hart and Sam Blenkinsop in third.
Ben Cathro had washed out in the last woods and folded his front wheel but was on for the win.

In the women’s Sabrina Jonnier took an easy win and was back after her crash last weekend.

Cathro washes out in the last woods while on a flyer.

After the prize giving Sam Blenkinsop was given his 5th place world cup overall UCI trophy, specially made up by 23 Degrees his management company, as only the top 3 got one this year, Sam is definitely a man of few words

The uplift.

The top guys queing for the port-a-loo.
