Champery build day 3 (I wish, it’s a conge – public holiday)
Today is a conge here in Switzerland and although we tried, we couldn’t get anyone to work. So, I got the chance to catch up on my email mountain today. By lunch time I was getting finger pump from typing so decided the only thing for it was to seize the (very rainy) day and do the tourist thing. Here are some of my Swiss holiday snaps from today:
Swiss cow with big bell.
Me eating Swiss Chocolate.
Etc……I took some more photos too, such as a picture of some Swiss cheese, a Swiss Army knife and even a Swiss bank, but I won’t bore you with ‘em.
I decided to take a look at the new Olympic replica BMX track at the UCI headquarters. First thing you notice is how bloody enormous the start hill is. 8m high and made of enough scaffold to cover Big Ben. The shape is interesting. It’s got a flatter bit near the top so riders get to pedal a bit before the big roll in. The rest of the track looks mint, with 2 split sections and some big jumps. Very smooth too. Nobody was around, so I was tempted to add a rock section, but I’d left my spade at the hotel.
Still raining…… has not stopped for the last 3 days. I wonder if the track will still be there in the morning or if it’s washed down the mountain into the valley yet.
