We’re barley three weeks into 2017 and there’s already a wealth of new kit being released. We popped up to the lovely Whittlebury Hall hotel to cast our eye over some early-season goodies from some of the UK’s biggest distributors.

Fox
Fox Head has a new range of protection that the eagle-eyed among you may have spotted on its athletes at the final World Cup and Red Bull Rampage last year.
The pad has a D30 insert but the knee cap is covered by a removable scratch plate. So what’s the idea here? Well Fox reckons that half the issue with fabric on pads is that the friction rips them up and causes them to slip down. The plastic cap on these should slide over the ground easily and you can simply replace it (for 11 quid) when it gets scratched up.
There will be elbow and knee pads of this design with more exciting colours to follow.
