The wind made the racing a bit more difficult this afternoon at the Polygon Air DH iXS European Cup at Crankworx. The course was pretty flat out with a mix of features, a lot of off camber grassy sections and a few big jumps. The track is pretty steep, and it can be difficult to stay on the narrow track and maintain speed. Check out the course preview with Gee Atherton and Brendog here.
Many riders crossed disciplines during the weekend, mixing it up and riding downhill, speed and style and the pump track challenge. The times were tight at the top, riders had to do everything to make up time when fighting against the wind in certain sections. Al Bond went down near the finish on one of the jumps, the course was on hold for quite a while as medics attended. It looks as if he sustained a shoulder injury – sending healing vibes, and we hope he has a speedy recovery!
