No rain, no bogs, no bike park sections. Finally we got a course that all the riders were happy with and the man who came out on top? Troy Brosnan.
Watch the winning run for the Australian here – his first in over three years and the first for the Canyon Factory Downhill team.
Red Bull said: “On a track that seemed to have the thumbs up from every pro racing here this weekend, the DH World Cup finals in Vallnord, Andorra delivered up a modern classic. A slight rain drizzle punctuated the afternoon’s racing, but the course rode perfectly and didn’t dampen the spirits of the watching crowd or the riders.
“Brosnan showed his fastest qualifying time was no fluke and he bounced off the rocks and roots on his run, but seemingly in control. He was faster than Minnaar at the top, but then lost time in the mid-section and the victory looked to be Minnaar’s.”
Incredibly though, the Australian crossed the finish line the fastest, posting a time that was 0.220-seconds quicker than Minnaar’s time.”
