Loosefest – Tommy C Edit

Madness from some place in the woods

It’s safe to say that Loosefest is quite the gem in the mountain biking world. This year was it’s 4th edition courtesy of Nico Vink and Bike Park Ferme Libert, nestled in the east of Belgium, a stones throw from the German border. You don’t think of Belgium to be the most mountainous region, and it’s not. But there’s some great hills around the town of Malmedy – encapsulating the bike park, Belgian National DH track and much more than we never got the chance to see.

Not an enduro bike in sight, metal blaring from the pits all week, and the most chill atmosphere made for quite the event, and the complete opposite end of the spectrum to a world cup weekend. It would be though, it’s not racing, but there’s no schedule, at all. There’s not many egos, everyone is your friend, and everyone is absolutely buzzing to be there. It’s unique.

Big man Nico throwing it flat and sideways on the first jump.
