She’s Alright For a Girl

This film won the Through the Lens competition at the Queenstown Bike Festival, there’s plenty of people riding out there at the moment and that clearly includes more women than many thought. Here’s a bit about the competition and the winning film, enjoy!

Through the Lens

After 3 sell out years, Through the Lens returns as a showcase of the creativity and talent found here in our world-class mountain bike scene. From bike park rats to jump cats and lycra wearing pedal fiends, Through the Lens is back as the ultimate showcase of mountain biking from the perspective of those at its core. Entrants will again be asked to deliver a short film as per the brief with screening of the event to be held at The Find on March 17th.

1 idea, 2 enthusiastic first time directors, 9 awesome local girl riders, 2 unemployed photographers who just got to town, a lifelong Queenstown local, an Argentinian cowboy and lots and lots of hours on the surrounding trails! I wanted to make a girls edit for Through The Lens as they are quite rare but with the amount of girls riding in Queenstown I felt that it was time to show us off! Lucie was not hard to convince and soon we had put a wicked team together! It’s cheeky, it’s fun, strawberries mixed with awesome riding and a great bunch of girls doing what they love!
