Brandon Semenuk’s 10 greatest edits

An amazing CV

Although Brandon Smenuk is unquestionably one of the most successful slopestyle athletes ever, his true wizardry is shown through his web edits. To celebrate the phenomenal Lapse he released yesterday we’ve gathered together his ten best film sections for you here to enjoy.

It should be said, this isn’t a complete list. In a perfect world we’d have included his Follow Me section with Stevie Smith and his Rad Company Fiji section, but unfortunately those videos aren’t available online. Still, it’s a pretty unbeatable selection.

Unreal

From a purely technical view, this film was an unbelievable undertaking. From building Brandon a custom track through to the incredible one-shot camera work, it’s a visual feast. It becomes all the more impressive when you factor in the fact that Brandon only needed one run to lay it down and he was riding with an injured wrist. This is a true masterpiece.

REVEL IN THE CHAOS UTAH

Want to know why Semenuk looked so much more comfortable at this year’s Red Bull Rampage than anyone else? It may have something to do with the fact he’s ridden there at night. This section was the highlight of his Revel in the Chaos film.

Lapse

Maybe this is because it’s so recent, but we reckon Brandon Semenuk’s latest video is up there with his best. The level of progression in this video is incredible and he’s pulling tricks that other riders aren’t even considering. It leaves us wondering what we missed out on in his Crankworx Joyride run.

Raw 100 2

Every RAW 100 video Red Bull has produced has been a banger, but once again Semenuk showed he could simply do it better. Heading to a former X-Games downhill BMX track he laid down this steeze filled edit. And let’s not forget that unreal whip to tailwhip ender.

Strength in Numbers

If you’re going to shoot a segment about trail builders then there really is nobody better to show off their creations than Brandon Semenuk. Here he flashes through British Columbian woodlands on some of the World’s most famous trails.

Raw 100 1

Moody, atmospheric and blisteringly quick, Semenuk’s first RAW 100 showed he was about more than just silky tricks. On a dirt jump hardtail he blasts through a wintry woodland.

New World Disorder 10

Semenuk was switching bikes in sections way before UnReal. Here in New World Disorder 10 he shreds Retallack ridgelines before dropping in to some tasty, flowy jumps.

Street Sweeper

Away from woodlands, Semenuk’s riding is no less impressive. Street Sweeper feels like a precursor to Lapse and sees him cruising the deserted night time streets of Barcelona.

Vice Versa

Have you heard? Semenuk’s a pretty handy rally driver too. Watch him open the tank on his way up a fireroad then pin down it on his trail bike. The real star of the show in this one is the sturdy bike rack. We just want to know what happened to the Scooby he abandoned at the top of the mountain!

Ten years with Trek

It would be remiss to talk about Semenuk without mentioning his comp success. This isn’t strictly an edit but it shows just what a successful partnership he’s had with Trek over the past ten years.
