Bike Check – Markus Stockl’s record breaking Mondraker Summum

The fastest bike on Earth

Markus Stockl recently beat his own World Record for the highest speed achieved on a production downhill bike on dirt. In case you were skeptical, here’s a quick run down of all the kit he used:

It’s all stuff you could pick up off a shelf at a local bike shop – no protostypes, no special tech (red suit aside, of course). It just goes to show how advanced and capable the kit we ride is.

Stockl said: “My idea of downhill mountain biking is that you should be able buy everything in a shop. That means I didn’t want any special parts on my bike. It should be a bike – not a motorbike without an engine.”
