Wowzers! Manon Carpenter has come out of the qualifying gate and well and truly proved that she’s going to be a force to be reckoned with this weekend in Pietermaritzburg. She has managed to put just over nine seconds into the rest of the field!
Despite being very ill this week, to the point where we weren’t even sure if she’d start her qualification run, Rachel Atherton has managed to come away with second spot in qualification, just ahead of Emmeline Ragot. If I was one of those racing against her I would be even more worried than usual, I mean she’s just put down the second fastest time despite spending a fair chunk of the week so far in hospital.
