The Lapierre team had a great set of results in Cairns at the second round of the World Cup. In the Juniors Loris Vergier nailed the team’s best result winning his category by 5.705s over his nearest rival, local Aiden Varley. Emmeline Ragot put down a solid run and took 4th place in the Women’s, a category spread out by huge time gaps she was over 28s back on the winner Rachel Atherton.
In the Elite Men Sam Blenkinsop stormed to take first place in qualifying but couldn’t put it together in his race run, 6th for him meant still bagging some good points towards the overall. Loic Bruni has been looking fast so far this season but went down in the final run in the Alien Tree section that saw a few riders hit the deck. 17th overall for the young Frenchman and plenty in the tank for Fort William.
