The Moment – new documentary about the birth of freeride

The birth of a sport that nobody wanted...

In a small corner of Canada, mountain biking was turned on its head by a crew of maverick wildmen (and women).

These guys wanted to take mountain bikes bigger, faster and longer than they’d ever been before and in one fell swoop, freeride was born. it didn’t take long for the North Shore to become the new home of mountain biking and arguably it still is to this day.

The Moment” is a feature-length documentary about the birth of freeride mountain biking that features the mountain bikers and filmmakers who rose up, challenged the status quo, and turned the sport of cycling on its head. It’s directed by former pro mountain biker-turned-filmmaker Darcy Hennessey Turenne who tries to trace the birth of a sport that nobody wanted…

With an all-star crew of Wade Simmons, Brett Tippie, Richie Schley, Chris Lawrence, Dave Sweetland and more, you can guarantee there’s plenty of wild action to go along with the historical info and bonkers stories. Watch the clip with Brett Tippie above for a taste of what to expect in the film.

The film is due to drop on April 3rd and you can pre-order it here.
