UK Gravity Enduro returns for 2018

The UK has a national enduro series once again!

UK Gravity Enduro is returning to the UK for 2018 to once again give the UK a national level enduro series.

For those of you who haven’t kept up (and who can blame you?), we started with the UK Gravity Enduro that ran from  2011 to 2015. Unfortunately organiser Steve Parr had to put it on hold to spend more time with his young family.

In UKGE’s place two new series popped up – the British Enduro Series (run by BDS organiser Si Paton) and the erm… British Enduro Series, later renamed to the UK Enduro Series (run by Neil Delafield)

We started 2016 with the two series running parallel before the UK Enduro Series folded after two rounds with Neil citing “serious personal issues” as the cause.

Then, after one season, Si Paton announced he would be unable to run the BES at the start of this year due to a combination of The loss of key sponsors, low rider numbers and Brexit. This left the UK with no national enduro series this year.

Well, that’s all set to change now as Steve Parr has once again stepped in to plug the gaps with the return of the UK Gravity Enduro.

If you’re still with us, here’s the full release:

“Exciting news for the UK enduro racer, UK Gravity Enduro is returning both bigger and better for the 2018 season.

“The Grand father of the UK Enduro scene, Steve Parr and his partner Liz have taken a well deserved year-long break from the race scene, spending valuable time with their two-year-old daughter Imogen.

“The #bringbackparr campaign started in 2017 and got the grey matter thinking said Steve. Now is the time to deliver a national level enduro series that takes in the best tracks and venues the UK has to offer.

“The format will be the same as previous years – 5 rounds Nationwide, all with seeding on Saturday and 5 stages on Sunday. Camping will be available from Thursday evening, with open trails on Friday.

“Personal insurance will NOT be required but is highly recommended, helmets must be worn at all times and must be of the full face variety (detachable chin guards must be in place on stages).

“Planning for 2018 is now well underway, dates and venues will be announced just after the EWS dates are released. Entries will go live on Saturday the 3rd of February at 09:00 with places limited to 300 riders on a first come, first served basis. More announcements regarding title sponsor and supporting sponsors will soon follow.”

We wish Steve all the best in his endeavours and hope he can carry on his legacy as the most successful organiser of national enduro events in the UK.
