After almost two months the DH World Cup returns. The next stop on the UCI calendar is Mont-Sainte-Anne in Canada. The area is considered a Mecca for mountain biking and doesn’t disappoint. The track this year remains mostly unchanged, but it does have a few new additions and is now 100 meters higher up the mountain.
There are two new jumps at the end of the course as well as a few new features at the top of the track. The track builders wanted to keep the World Championships line, but have amended it slightly – the track is around 2.9 km. The new sections have seen the addition of some tight twisty berms with a mix of flat corners and some of off camber bits.
Laurence has dropped a banger of a track walk gallery so make sure you check it out to see what riders face come race day!
The fastest time from last year came from Stevie Smith, with a 3:58.485, beating Gee Atherton to top spot by 0.904 of a second. The fastest speed in finals came from Bernat Guardia Pascual, he came through the speed trap at 69.694 km/h which is around 43MPH. In Women’s, Emmeline Ragot took the win with a 4.24.985 and the fastest speed of 63.124 km/h – around 39MPH.
