DirtTV Enduro World Series Round Two Tweedlove | Preview

The Enduro World Series has rolled into Peebles for the Tweedlove Festival and the second round of the Enduro World Series. With over 600 riders on course today it’s going to be busy in the Tweed Valley.

Jerome is out with injury for pretty much the whole season, but still walking around with a massive smile on his face.

Jerome Clementz is out for now with a broken wing (dislocated collar bone and some ligament damage if you want to be accurate) but the Mens field is still wide open. Martin Maes, Nico Lau and Florian Nicolai will be looking to upset the rhythm of the multi discipline pro Jared Graves. Graves is currently sitting second and by the admission of Clementz he is favourite to take the top step in the series overall. His talent in MTB across different disciplines is unparalleled and the steep and technical stages shouldn’t pose a problem for him. Cedric could sneak in a good result, 10th in Chile he will be looking to improve on that and avoid the crashes that set him back in the Chilean result sheet.

Always smiling, Loosedog Lewis was enjoying practice.

The local boys could be in for a good shout here too, Joe Barnes, and Gary Forrest know the area well and they are masters of the tricky tight stuff that could catch some of the Alpine specialists out. Peaty is here too and after the stages had been practiced by everyone he didn’t seem too keen with so many wheels through the stages. Then the sun came out and all is well again, having spent a lot of his early career up here he will know a few of these turns as he used to race his old downhill bikes on them!

The current series leader, Chausson will be looking to stay ahead of Moseley this weekend in Scotland. Photo: Matt Wragg

The women’s top spot is being battled out between Anne Caroline-Chausson and Tracy Moseley. Moseley took the overall in 2013 and Chausson was out for the middle of the season with injury, Cecile Ravanel has been a constant threat to both of them and will be looking to close the 37.1s gap she had from Tracy in Chile. Anneke Beerten is always in the mix and with her full concentration on Enduro she will be looking to get on the higher steps of the podium here at Tweedlove.

As with the Mens field the local, or at least UK based, women could have some advantage over the European riders. Katy Winton will be pushing aboard her Pivot and she will be joined by a whole host of UK riders looking to mark some points on their World Enduro cards.

The weather is great at the moment but tomorrow’s forecast seems to be changing. We are in the Scottish borders so anything can happen but lets hope that whatever the clouds decide to do the racing is fast. DirtTV will be here all weekend and you can check out all the edits as the drop right here on the Dirt site.
