Atherton, Ragot and Vernon go fastest
Well we knew it was going to be tight in Windham, short, steep and flat out seems to be the order of the day. Gee Atherton went fastest in Timed Training but there was only two seconds across the top five so who knows how much closer it could get come race day! Danny Hart went second fastest just 0.694s off Gee with team mate Needles exactly a second back on Danny. The rest of the top five was rounded out by Loic Bruni and Connor Fearon. Fastest through the speed trap was Brook MacDonald though with 67.907km/hr, which is 42mph is old money.
WOMEN
Emmeline Ragot took the fastest time in their timed training session, she was 1.210s up on Rachel Atherton with series leader Manon Carpenter just shy of 6 seconds back. This is timed training though and the speed will really come out in qualifying tomorrow, interestingly Manon was fastest through the speed trap at 63.660km/hr or just over 35.5mph.
JUNIORS
The Juniors weren’t exactly hanging about either and it was Taylor Vernon who nailed the fastest time on the results sheet, this was the widest open category with a 3.092 gap back to second placed Loris Vergier and another half a second back to series leader Luca Shaw.
This is just timed training but it does show that things are going to be tight when it comes to racing, we might see the closest result of the whole season on Saturday.
