Weather plays havoc with Crankworx Les Gets scheduling

It's sloppy out there

wet weather is causing havoc in Les Gets at the moment with riders getting very little course time and events being postponed in the hope the situation will improve.

The dual speed and style event was meant to kick off at 4:30pm today but has now been pushed back to tomorrow and there have still not been any wheels put on to the slopestyle course. Unfortunately it looks like the weather is not set to improve with thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow and further rain scheduled through the weekend.

Riders are still enjoying the local trails but are coming off the hill caked in a layer of gloopy mud. One bunch that aren’t complaining are the downhill boys. They’ve been up on the hill walking the track and the feedback has been incredibly positive. Fabien Barel said: “It is wet, it is cold but damn the track looks amazing”, while Reece Wilson added: “I’ve never been this excited to ride a DH track.”

Let’s hope the forecasters are wrong and we can fit all the events in before Sunday!
