We may already be well into the racing season, but that hasn’t stopped a new team from surfacing, complete with some blast from the past names and a Cornish legend.
In their first team video Andrew Titley (DH), Will Evans (4X) and Billy Cheetham (Enduro) head to Wales for a bit of team bonding, and of course being Wales there’s some sheep action thrown in with the riding…
What a team! It’s great to see Will Evans finally getting a decent sponsorship deal, and I reckon it’s safe to say that there will never be a dull moment wherever this lot show up.
Here’s all the usual PR stuff…
Hotlines Europe, in conjunction with Ghost Bikes GmBH, announce the line-up for their 2012 gravity team. For 2012 GHOST have created a team of riders from a variety of gravity disciplines. They will be competing in downhill, gravity enduro and 4X race across the UK and Europe.
The team for 2012 consists of DH specialist Andrew Titley, National 4X hero and Cornish pin up Will Evans and recent convert to enduro racing, Billy Cheetham
Andrew Titley has been a regular feature on the UK Downhill scene for many years and has been spotted stepping onto the podium at NPS and Pearce Cycles races on more than one occasion recently. Downhill riding and racing is very much in his blood!
Here’s what he had to say for himself:
“I’m looking forward to competing this year on the AMR Plus Lector 9000 and the DH 9000. I’ll be riding the British Downhill Series, National Downhill Championships and checking out some of the enduro scene. I also plan to take a trip over to the Alps to the infamous European enduro scene and put the AMR through its paces.”
Joining Titley will be long-term British 4X stalwart, Will Evans. Will has a brace of Ghost Bikes in the form of a 4X Team hardtail and an AMR Plus 7500 for the UK gravity enduro races and day-to-day riding and training.
We managed to stop Will from inhaling pasties long enough to get this out of him:
“Will Evans – I’m a Cornish pasty smashing elite 4x and retired DH racer. I am loving both my GHOST AMR Plus and the 4X Team bike! The versatility of the AMR Plus is great; climbs, pinball Downhill and jumpy trails, everything I was hoping for in an AM bike. I have already been on the podium at a DH race on this 150mm travel bike.”
Billy Cheetham might be the shortest guy on the team but he certainly makes up for a lack of height with skill and personality. Billy and his brother Jonny have been regular faces on the British downhill scene since the 90’s. Last year Billy decided to mix it up and raced 4X to an elite level with good success. For 2012 Billy will focus on enduro racing.
Billy commented:
“The tie in with GHOST is great for me. My shop, The Bike Yard is a GHOST dealer so I am very familiar with the bikes and I’m a big fan. I can’t wait to get out racing!”
