Photographer Victor Lucas gives us five scorching Italian gems from a hot hot hot Val di Sole World Cup.
Greg Minnaar took another second place today. You can be sure he was hoping for a better gap between him and Gee for the overall. It's going to be interesting with the final round in Windham on a new course that has never held a World Cup before.
To be honest, nobody expected Marc Beaumont to get on the top step of the podium here. He looked steady in practice without much of a fuss, but old Slugger must have been keeping a few secrets to himself, as he certainly kicked ass today with a solid gap of over 1 second.
Emmeline Ragot does it again and takes a gutsy 2 second win over Sabrina on this hard-core course. So Ragot has closed the overall points gap to 175 behind Sabrina. It will be on the line in Windham.
Wyn Masters couldn't follow up on his result in Champery last week, but he was certainly hanging everything out in the dusty breeze on this second last corner.
Earlier in the week, it seemed like Gee Atherton was quietly confident on this course. He certainly looked fast and had the best speed today through the speed trap, but there were still a couple of seconds he couldn't find out there on the hill. He finished 3rd, which puts him just 7 points ahead of Greg in the overall. It's going to be an exciting final in Windham NY.
