Troy Brosnan runs flat pedals for Leogang practice

It must be slippery out there

We promised you that it would be wet in Leogang and our track walk photos only confirmed that. We didn’t realise it would be so wet that riders would be switching to flats though!

Troy Brosnan has just posted a picture of flat pedals fitted to his pink Demo 8 on Instagram. The pedals are muddy (as is his riding kit) so it’s pretty safe to assume that he has been using them throughout practice. It’s worth noting that it’s sunny in the picture though, so if the track dries out we’ve no doubt he’ll be switching back to clipless.

The last race that forced riders to switch wholesale to clips was Cairns in 2014, which was won by Gee Atherton in a pair of borrowed FiveTens. Timed training results are due at around 4pm UK time so it won’t be long before we find out if the move has paid off for Brosnan.
