Lenzerheide World Cup 2016: Track Walk

Finally!

After a miserable, stormy June, we needed a dose of radness to kickstart July and it seems like Lenzerheide could be just the ticket.

The World Cup has been away for only just over a month but the excitement of the first four rounds has left us pining for more.

And so we return to Lenzerheide – the track that was designed with input from Steve Peat and delivered Greg Minnaar his record breaking 18th win. It’s similar to Leogang in that it’s heavily man-made and attracts a decent amount of criticism, but don’t underestimate it – it’s already taken its first victim in the form of Claudio Caluori.

The riders reacquainted themselves with the track today and here’s all the best action from the trackwalk:

Lenzerheide is one of the most picturesque courses going
Most stylish rider on the mountain? Brosnan’s threads never fail to impress
Peaty describes this as one of the best views on the World Cup, pity we're looking the wrong way!
There it is!
Some new woodwork up top shouldn't worry riders... if it stays dry
From Leogang to Lenzerheide - these continentals love their man made rock gardens
It was one of the most congested parts of the course though. FMD and Trek jostle for a good view here
Finn Iles has an overall to protect, he went over the course with a fine-toothed comb today.
A wide taped track with plenty of options
There’s plenty of tech here when you get into the cover of the trees
Loic is in attendance but isn't healed up enough to be racing unfortunately
Last year's winner looking in high spirits
Tread carefully, these can catch out unwary riders - just ask Claudio!
Can anyone unseat this man?
This bridge jump leads straight into a 90 degree left hander and is not to be underestimated - the copius amount of padding is testament to the big stacks it caused last year
Steep has always suited Danny Hart but is this too tame for the Redcar Rocket?
The switchbacks swooping under the chairlift offer plenty of opportunities for inside lines.
Despite their bike parky nature, the jumps take some looking at
Second here for Manon last year, will she be able to go one better this year?
Who will be stopping this clock fastest come Saturday?
Plenty of untapped potential in this one yet.
The Santa Moos coming together.
