If you haven’t heard of Trek’s C3 Project then as Trek put it; “These athletes are about more than just competition—and that’s where the term C3 comes from… for them, cinematics and creativity are equal to competition as a measure of success and source of inspiration.” So yeah, these guys are as much about looking good as they are getting good results, and with the likes of Cam McCaul, Ryan Howard, Brett Rheeder, and Brandon Semenuk onboard, and Andrew Shandro leading them all, they look pretty good too.
Anyway, joining that illustrious list is the rather talented 17 year old Canadian Tom van Steenbergen. Despite being so young Tom is no one trick pony. Before focusing on slopestyle two years ago he raced both DH and BMX, and in the relatively short time that he’s been competing in the FMB world tour he has already won multiple best trick contests and been a regular on the podium. I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in future too…
