D DAY – 15!
The resort of Châtel is working hard and carefully on the site of Plaine-Dranse, and specially on the hill side where the international mountain-biking event in freestyle and slopestyle disciplines in the same run will take place from 5 to 8 July 2007…
Sébastien Giraldi is on the site with the staff to supervise the works in the right way in order to have the described composition of the hill side, that’s to say: 160 m vertical drop, 300 m long, and 100 m wide, with artificial and natural units such as step-up, step-down, wall-ride, double dirt, rocky bar… and to make the difference, and a big difference… three new modules which has never been seen before in a contest…???!!! All these equipments are distributed on a ground with different types : grass, earthy, stony, rocky…
Works are done on the different places, but these ones are carefully preserved to keep a perfect harmonisation with the existing landscape…

Thursday 5 July 2007: practice.
Friday 6 July 2007: practice and qualifications (professionals and amateurs)
6pm: Big Bike aperitif with “Brasseries du Mont Blanc”.
Saturday 7 July 2007: semi finals and finals (amateurs and professionals). Prizegiving (prize money and partners prizes). Indem will do the prizegiving to the best one.
Evening : dirt contest (with prize money given by Kenny), then Kenny night with “Hip Ride Krou”, two famous men in the place… The “Brasseries du Mont Blanc” will give a good taste of perfumed beer during this evening…
Sunday 8 July 2007: appointment is given to everybody on the Mountain Bike Park site (professionals, amateurs, partners, press…) for a “ride-apero-bbq” day and a good fun!!
At the moment, more than 15 pro riders will be in Châtel for the very first big event organised by the resort…
In fact, this one has been developing for some years its mountain-biking offer (signposted paths, lifts accepting the mountain-bikes, downhill permanent trails, Mountain bike-park…), which is helped by the fact of belonging to the fabulous Portes du Soleil domain where mountain-biking has a good place! Châtel wants to be recognised in this activity, so logically, it is the reason why she is starting to organise big events…
The following partners take part to this one : Mountain Cycle, Indem, Mavic, the Big Bike magazine, Kenny, the Châtel Mountain bike park, Les Brasseries du Mont Blanc, Cébé et Rossignol.
Spectacle, sensations and adrenalin will be guaranteed during the Châtel Mountain Style Contest !
