Tara Llanes announced today that she is hosting an online auction with Go211.com to raise funds towards her ever growing medical costs. The auction begins April 25th at 5pm EST with the bidding ending on May 9th at 5pm EST.
Read a full interview with Tara in Dirt 75.You probably know that Tara was seriously injured on September 1st, 2007 while racing at the Jeep KOM Finals. At the present time she is paralysed from the waist down. She has been working intensely at physical therapy and has very high hopes that not only will she walk again, but ride again as well. Tara raced on the professional mountain bike circuit for 14 years and has won four National Championships. She made many friends while competing in both the US and European World Cup Circuit, and they have rallied behind her during her road to recovery.
The online auction will feature some of the most sought after items in the sport today, including:
• Eric Carter’s 2006 National Championship 4x bike
• Steve Peat’s signed replica Troy Lee Designs helmet
• John Tomac’s Troy Lee Designs custom gold leaf painted helmet
• Sabrina Jonnier’s custom Monster Energy helmet & World Champion jersey
• And more to come….
In addition to the live online auction taking place, Tara will be attending this year’s Sea Otter Classic and will have a Tara Llanes Road to Recovery booth set up next to the Giant Bicycles booth. She will be selling her Road to Recovery t-shirts, newly designed hoodies, bracelets, and the Jill Kintner designed TaraBalm. There will also be a raffle for amazing prizes and products.
All proceeds from the auction and raffle will go to the Tara Llanes Road to Recovery Fund (www.tarallanesroadtorecovery.com).

Jaymie Mart update.
Jaymie Mart recently ran the London Marathon to raise money for Tara. Believe it or not Jaymie did actually finish the race in a time of just over 5 hours placing her 7088th in the field. Good work Jaymie.
