The track was marked out today and pretty much resembles these photos. The only difference is that they’ve added some fast grassy sections here and there.
A couple of sheets of 18mm plywood and a bit of 2*4, some screws and you’ve got one UCI start hut.
The numbers have been written on the start hut so the likes of Hill and Minnaar can remember they are dropping 600m over 2.2km
A few grassy off camber turns like these have been sprinkled on the track.
I’ve been checking out the wildlife and everything from rabbits to cows come in multiple colours.
Beware the “Moss Monster” (‘cos he’ll be trying to knock you off your bike with his pointy stick.)
Schladmingers don’t have sheds, they simple nail their garden tools to the side of the house. I watched as two locals actually nailed a flymo on the gable end yesterday.
There’s a thriving rock scene in the town, these two are the Whites Stripes of Schladming. (Last night the one with out the beard rammed his tuba into his Marshal stack during a Hendrix cover. Catch them if you can.)
