Talking of Portugal, Luis Nogueira sent me an ebeam with details of other races in Portugal.This is what Luis told me:
This year we got 8 Portugal Cup races,UCI cat. C2 (for those oh so important UCI points!),as well as 2 Maxxis International races (UCI C1),including Gouveia,host of a World Cup race in 2010…organizer’s word.

That´s only the big events,we got loads more regional races,not to mention a full Portugal Cup in urban downhill (6 races) and the invitation-only Red Bull Downtown Lisbon!
But wait,I’ve got to tell you about our own Avalanche (Oct 4),running since 2001,topping 900+ entries in 2006,last year 650 riders.
Next weekend,the SRAM Regional Cup starts in Lousã,the “cathedral” of DH and FR,in one of the country’s best DH tracks,approved by the likes of The Athertons,CG,Nathan Rennie,Brian Lopes and many more,who have been here before…oh,today I was looking at the entry list and Kyle Strait is there!
If you fancy a bit of sunshine and a different race then get yourself a cheap flight and get on over.

Welsh Race NewsMIJ Downhill have arranged a 3 race series at Taff Buggy, there will be different versions of the course for each one and as we have just registered with British Cycling, they will carry points.
