Filip Polc from Slovakia who will be racing the World Cups on a Tomac bike for the Gravity Group this year, won the Megavalanche in Peru. Apparently it pissed it down with rain and snow making the going soft-to-muddy (horse racing terminology).
Looking down the results list we were surprised to spot a lone British rider, Dan Thwaite from Gurnsey in 16th place. Well done fella, who ever you are.
UPDATE: Just been informed that Dan Thwaite was none other than the guide at Ticket2ridebc who showed us around Whistler on our last visit (check out the story in Dirt 75). Apparently he drove down from Vancouver to Peru in his 1985 Ford Camper. That’s one hell of a road trip.
