Okay, some of you have read Dirt#84 and spotted a typo (well more of a bad joke) regarding this years National Champs at Inners.
The actual cost of entry will be about £65 not the £180 as wildly stated by one of our contributors.
You can check the latest NPS news and ask questions to the organiser Si Paton on the new Dirt forum here.
Here’s the full story on this years National Champs:
This years National Champs for both DH and XC on July 18/19th is going to be a sell out as it’s the same weekend as the St.Ronans Highland Games (Oldest sports event in Scotland)! Come watch the Worlds best DH riders, cheer on the XC, enjoy the processions through the town, tossing the caber, fireworks and loads of men in skirts!
Get on the blower now and get your accommodation sorted, it’s going to be busier than Bethlehem some 2,000 years ago.
The DH and XC will be running throughout the weekend at the most established of trail centers – Innerleithen, just 40 minutes south of Edinburgh and just inside the Scottish Borders.
Gareth Brewin
Always guaranteed to be a tough one, 3 minutes of tree dodging on a tight and technical course with more exposed roots than Jodie Marsh and a few rocks and jumps thrown in there to boot.
Follow the band!
There are plenty of DH and XC tracks at Innerleithen that will be open for everyone to ride that weekend. Parking, Camping and spectating is always free at our events and there will be live timing, professional commentator, background music, marquee, hot and cold food, toilets and skips for your rubbish!
Ali Maclennan
The main town of Innerleithen is a brisk 5 minutes walk from the race village, just over the road bridge that crosses the river Tweed. If that still isn’t enough for you then the World famous Glentress Trail Center is only 3 miles up the road. Bringing her indoors? She can hop on the bus straight to Edinburgh for some retail therapy or even the picturesque town of Peebles only 5 miles up the road..
