Have you had enough of the rat race? Want an outdoor lifestyle? Want to feel the wind in your face every day? Then become a tramp. Alternatively why not become a mountain bike instructor? Imagine doing something every day that you love, for some that will indeed be sitting on the pavement swigging gin from the bottle, but for the most of us that will be riding bikes.

Base Camp Group, who specialise in instructor training courses in a variety of different sports, have just launched a new summer programme, and one of their most exciting courses, at least for Dirt readers, is the Mountain Bike Instructor Course in Whistler.

If you’ve got Dirt 75 which is out today (or you raced at the NPS at Ae Forest and got your free copy) you’ll have seen the Whistler article, hopefully that’s whetted your appetite for travel and adventure.

The Mountain Bike Instructor Course is run with ZEP Techniques, who are a small British owned mountain bike training company in Whistler, and on offer are 4 week PMBI (Professional Mountain Bike Instructor) courses as well as 4 week performance camps, geared mostly at the DH / FR biker, but with a healthy dose of XC thrown in there too – it’s up to the client.

The qualification is a new one, and designed to fill a gap in the market – there don’t seem to be any other internationally recognised mountain bike qualifications, and the courses are all inclusive, with some top end tuition and a packed programme.
